Tips for happiness & emotional wellbeing
62
- · Love with all your heart.
- · Enjoy your family
- · Think before you act: ‘is this in my best interest?”
- · Stay positive, hopeful & open.
- · Change negative self talk.
- · Have a ‘yes i can’ attitude.
- · Don’t entertain excuses.
- · Think positively about yourself.
- · Get passionate about your dreams and don't give up, you are as capable and successful as your passion and effort.
- · Accept your weaknesses as well as your strengths.
- · Set reasonable goals.
- · Encourage your ‘can do’ attitude by trying and by encouraging others.
- · Praise yourself and take a pride in your achievements.
- · Be your own biggest fan.
- · Be honest with yourself and others.
- · Trust yourself; ask for help when you need it.
- · Take 20 minutes a day to praise yourself for anything you have achieved in That day ~ (even if it was just getting out of bed).
- · Respect yourself.
- · Don’t try to be someone else.
- · Love the unique person you are. no-one else is exactly like you.
- · Make your own miracles happen by believing in yourself.
- · A small step each day toward your goals makes giant strides in the long run. Action makes all things happen.
- · See the funny side in things and try not to take yourself or stuff too seriously - enjoy a good belly laugh and share humor and joy.
- · Avoid being reactive and impulsive; take control before you get upset. when you are angry & upset (reactive), it’s like giving someone else the remote control to your feelings and saying "here, change my mood any time you wish!"
- · Be proactive; think before getting angry. use positive language and positive thinking and your actions will be positive – this puts the control back into your own hands.
- · You are free to choose whichever behavior you want, no-one else can make you feel, think or behavior unless you let them.
- · Avoid blaming: people, places, and things. power comes from accepting things as they are. we can only change ourselves ~ no-one else.
- · Remember, life is a gift (we don't remember asking for) and we don't know how long we have (to touch, love, live, create and evolve) on this amazing earth. so, why not make the most of it.
- · Stay open to love and keep on giving, hoping, learning, reaching, trying, praying, trusting and believing.

Nice hub bright. These are the kinds of things where I think, "well yeah, I know that" but knowing and doing sometimes are different. I think I'll bookmark this one and and pick one I'll focus on for a few weeks, then another and another. I like how you kept it simple. You could have gone into great philosophical depth, but I think that's kinda your point: you don't need to understand why it works, just do it and see for yourself because it does work! Nice hub. Thanks bright.
I agree with the tips to being more happy but many people find it difficult to practice what they read. Enjoy the Hub.
Nice hub, Helen.
What feels difficult to me is when I think, "I have to do this for the rest of my life." When I remember to just pay attention right now, it's easier. Paying attention tomorrow at 6:35 is really difficult. :)

Hi brightforyou, Life is a gift and this earth is amazing. I feel sorry for the people that fail to understand or believe in this simple but very true guide line. Your tips for happines are very appreciated here.
Thanks for writing.
Your words are easy to remember, sensible and very encouraging! I look forward to reading more of your work.
Oh yes you cannot have all pleasure in life, I know that all so well. Here is a time line of my bad luck, Car crash at age 4 1/2 with massive head concussion, coma 5 days. 1992 all fingers smashed off then sewed back on.
2002 30ft fall breaking most all bones, with spleendechomy and most other organs trauma, pancreatitis, I've been given a very short time to live, but it doesn't keep me from being happy. My friends say I'm dead and that I just wont except it. The list goes on.
"Don't try to be someone else".
This pretty much sums up what most people do practically all the time - knowingly or unknowingly. I was opened to this reality after I started practicing mindfulness meditation.
It was a shocking discovery that I had put on a number of artificial personality traits and started believing them too! Now after years of practice I feel relieved to have shed most of that burden, but still keep stumbling upon "unreal" traits in me off and on.
I am pleased to have stumbled upon this truly nice hub.
Thank you.
I really like this, am printing it out ; )
